Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to ensure efficient movement of goods within the warehouse. This role requires a strong attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to perform heavy lifting as needed.
Duties
- Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, and order pickers to transport materials throughout the warehouse.
- Perform order picking and staging of products for shipment in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure safe operation and report any mechanical issues.
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks, ensuring proper handling of materials to prevent damage.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain an organized and efficient workspace.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) as required.
- Familiarity with order picking processes and warehouse distribution operations.
- Basic math skills for inventory management and order accuracy.
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices in the workplace.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
