Job Summary
Alpha Construction Inc is seeking a motivated and experienced Journeyman Carpenter to join our team for an industrial construction project in the Fort McMurray area. The successful candidate will possess strong industrial construction experience, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Please Note: This position is intended for local Fort McMurray and surrounding area residents only. No camp accommodations, flights, or travel allowances will be provided.
The ideal candidate will be able to work independently while also being a team player. You will be expected to maintain a clean job site by following all safety regulations and following company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Perform all aspects of industrial carpentry work, including framing, formwork, concrete forming, installation of doors, hardware, and finishing components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications.
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble materials accurately and efficiently.
- Construct and dismantle temporary structures, scaffolding, and formwork systems.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all company and site-specific safety requirements.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, tradespeople, and project personnel to meet project schedules.
Qualifications
- Alberta Journeyman Carpenter Certificate or recognized Interprovincial Red Seal Certification.
- Minimum 3-5 years of industrial construction experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of concrete forming systems, structural carpentry, and industrial construction practices.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License with reliable transportation.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and perform repetitive movements throughout the workday.
Required Certifications
- CSTS 2020
- WHMIS
- Standard First Aid/CPR
- Valid Driver's License
Additional site-specific certifications may be required.
