About the Role
AarKel Tool and Die Inc. is seeking Junior Die Cast Designers to join our growing team. Reporting to the Die Cast Design Leader, the successful candidates will be responsible for assisting in the design of high-quality Die Cast Dies to meet customer specifications and supporting the overall tooling and manufacturing process.
This position is ideal for someone with strong technical design skills, experience in Die Cast, and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design of Die Cast Dies according to customer requirements and engineering specifications
- Assist in the development and maintaining accurate design documentation and job history records
- As required participate in design review meetings and provide technical input regarding manufacturability and tooling concerns
- As required submit preliminary, intermediate, and final designs for customer review and approval
- Prepare bills of materials for the Purchasing Department
- Maintain organized records including drawings, reports, and design files
- Ensure work areas remain clean, safe, and organized
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and health & safety regulations
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and other assigned duties
Qualifications
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Completion of Die Cast Die or Plastic Mold Design, or related program from an accredited college or recognized institution is a definite asset
- Previous experience as a mould maker or toolmaker is considered an asset
- Strong understanding of Die Cast tooling and manufacturing processes
- Proficiency with CAD design software such as Unigraphics (UG/NX) or similar
- Ability to interpret and visualize 3D models and technical drawings
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent attendance and organizational skills
- Professional attitude when interacting with customers and team members
- Works in compliance with provisions of thr Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations
- Other duties as may be assigned
