KMSC Law LLP is seeking an experienced Commercial Finance Legal Assistant to join our team. This position is ideal for a highly organized and detail focused professional with experience supporting commercial financing transactions in a legal environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with lawyers, financial institutions, clients, and other professionals to assist with commercial lending and financing matters from the initial instruction through closing and post closing.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and reviewing commercial loan and security documentation
- Assisting with secured financing transactions, including registrations and searches
- Conducting corporate, personal property, land title, and other required due diligence searches
- Preparing closing agendas, document checklists, reporting letters, and closing books
- Coordinating document execution and transaction closing requirements
- Communicating with clients, lenders, borrowers, opposing counsel, and third parties
- Managing critical dates, conditions, and follow up requirements
- Organizing and maintaining electronic and physical files
- Preparing correspondence, accounts, and other legal documents
- Supporting lawyers with commercial finance and general corporate matters as required
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a legal assistant or paralegal working in commercial finance, banking, secured lending, or corporate law
- Strong knowledge of commercial financing documentation and closing procedures
- Experience conducting and reviewing corporate, land title, and personal property registry searches
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple files, deadlines, and competing priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal practice management software
- Preferably with CORES Level 1 accreditation and APPRES accreditation.
