Potherb Cannabis Co. has earned its place as a standout destination in Mississauga's cannabis market — not just because of our product selection, but because of the people behind the counter. We take customer experience seriously, and that starts with hiring staff who are curious, knowledgeable, and genuinely enjoy helping people. We're currently adding to our team and have openings for both part-time and full-time roles. The right candidate could be placed in either position depending on fit and availability.
The Role
As a Budtender at Potherb, you'll be the first point of contact for every customer who walks through the door. Your job is to make them feel welcome, answer their questions honestly, and point them toward the products that make sense for them — not just the most expensive ones. Day to day, you can expect to:
- Deliver a consistently high standard of service to every customer, from first-timers to regulars.
- Use your cannabis knowledge to explain strains, product formats, and usage methods in plain, approachable language.
- Help customers navigate their choices and leave with something that genuinely suits their needs.
- Operate the POS system efficiently and accurately, following all regulatory requirements without exception.
- Keep the store floor tidy, stocked, and visually presentable throughout your shift.
- Stay on top of new products, promotions, and any changes to cannabis law or compliance requirements.
- Show up as a dependable team player who makes the workplace better for everyone around them.
You're a Strong Fit If You Have
- Proof of age — must be 19 or older to work in a licensed cannabis retail environment.
- A high school diploma or equivalent credential.
- The ability to hold a real conversation: you listen well, communicate clearly, and adapt your style to different people.
- Genuine familiarity with cannabis — strains, consumption methods, effects, and product types.
- A basic understanding of Ontario's cannabis retail regulations and compliance expectations.
- At least one year of experience in a customer-facing retail role (preferred, not required).
- The temperament for a busy store — calm under pressure, consistent, and a good teammate.
- Schedule flexibility that covers evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- A valid CannSell certification (or willingness to obtain one before your start date).
- Clearance through a pre-employment background check.
