Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Project Estimator / Site Coordinator for civil construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building site works, earthworks, and water and sewer construction projects and must have at least 5 years of construction experience in Canada. This role requires someone who can prepare accurate estimates, review drawings, support project planning, and help manage site-related work during construction. Strong knowledge of Civil 3D is essential. We are looking for a practical candidate with hands-on Canadian construction experience rather than someone focused mainly on office software such as Primavera, HeavyBid, or Procore. Working with First Nation Communities is essential.
Responsibilities
- Review and interpret civil drawings, grading plans, servicing drawings, and project specifications.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for earthworks, excavation, site servicing, watermain, sewer, storm, and related civil construction works.
- Perform quantity take-offs and analyze labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Use Civil 3D to review drawings, quantities, and project layouts.
- Coordinate with project managers, site supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to clarify project scope and requirements.
- Support site operations by assisting with planning, scheduling, and execution of site works.
- Monitor project progress and help resolve site-related issues during construction.
- Conduct site visits when required to verify site conditions, quantities, and project requirements.
- Prepare and maintain bid documents, estimate revisions, cost breakdowns, and project records.
- Assist with resource planning for crews, equipment, and materials.
- Ensure work is carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications, safety standards, and Canadian construction practices.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of construction experience in Canada is mandatory.
- Proven experience in civil construction, especially site works, earthworks, and water and sewer infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in Civil 3D is required.
- Strong understanding of excavation, grading, trenching, underground utilities, and municipal servicing works.
- Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, servicing plans, profiles, and technical specifications.
- Experience in estimating, quantity take-offs, budgeting, and project coordination.
- Strong knowledge of labor productivity, equipment usage, material costing, and subcontractor scope review.
- Ability to support both estimating and on-site project execution.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Organized, reliable, and able to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
