Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Automotive Service Manager to lead our service department. The ideal candidate will oversee daily operations, ensure exceptional customer service, and drive sales through effective upselling and technical expertise. This role requires a strong background in automotive repair, dealership experience, and excellent leadership skills to motivate the team and maintain high standards of service quality.
Responsibilities
- Manage the service department’s daily operations, including scheduling, workflow, and customer interactions
- Supervise and support technicians, ensuring efficient and accurate vehicle repairs
- Provide outstanding customer service by addressing client concerns and explaining repair options clearly
- Oversee sales activities, including upselling additional services and maintenance packages to maximize revenue
- Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain proper financial records
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry regulations
- Monitor technician performance, provide coaching, and facilitate ongoing training to improve skills
- Maintain a high level of mechanical knowledge to assist with complex repairs and diagnostics when necessary
- Develop and implement strategies to increase customer satisfaction and repeat business
Experience
- Proven experience in automotive service management or a similar leadership role
- Extensive mechanic experience with strong mechanical knowledge of various vehicle systems
- Demonstrated success in customer service, sales, and upselling within an automotive setting
- Familiarity with automotive repair processes, parts inventory management, and cash handling procedures
- Ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining a focus on quality and efficiency
- Prior experience managing a busy service department is highly preferred
