Job Overview:
- We are seeking an experienced and driven Buyer to join our Supply Chain Management team. In this role, you will lead and support strategic sourcing initiatives by preparing and issuing Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and Requests for Quotations (RFQs) for operational, capital, and critical business projects.

The successful candidate will coordinate and execute complex procurement activities involving materials, equipment, and services while ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and procurement best practices. You will play a key role in delivering value through effective supplier negotiations, cost optimization, risk management, and stakeholder collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the designated Procurement Lead for assigned operational, capital, and strategic projects.

Support assigned region(s) by managing day-to-day procurement requirements and providing sourcing expertise.

Execute the full procurement lifecycle, including:

Development and issuance of RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs
-
Bid management and supplier communications
-
Commercial evaluations and recommendations
-
Purchase order issuance
-
Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, procedures, and governance requirements.
-
Develop, negotiate, and support the implementation of supplier agreements.
-
Identify opportunities to optimize pricing, improve procurement efficiency, and generate cost savings across the organization.

Research supply markets, evaluate sourcing options, and assess sole-source justifications to determine appropriate procurement strategies.

Lead negotiations with suppliers on:

Pricing and commercial terms

Delivery schedules
-
Payment terms
-
Scope of work
-
Warranties
-
Change orders
-
Cancellation charges and liquidated damages provisions

Coordinate and facilitate pre-award and post-award meetings to evaluate supplier qualifications and project deliverables.

Monitor supplier performance and address service, quality, or delivery issues as required.

Assist with supplier qualification, onboarding, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Manage procurement activities across multiple projects, including large-scale initiatives and major equipment acquisitions.

Act as the primary liaison between suppliers, project managers, consultants, and internal stakeholders.

Support Business Development activities by providing market research, pricing analysis, lead-time estimates, and procurement planning input.

Investigate and resolve procurement-related issues to ensure project continuity and successful outcomes.

Maintain procurement records in accordance with corporate policies, audit requirements, and SOX compliance standards.

Issue and approve purchase orders in accordance with the Approved Supplier List (ASL) and authorization requirements.

Research, recommend, and implement continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives.

Stay informed of market conditions, industry trends, and emerging supply chain best practices.

Participate in Supply Chain Management team initiatives and organizational improvement programs.

Mentor, coach, and provide training to team members and end-user departments as required.

Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Commerce, or a related field.
-
Minimum 4+ years of progressive procurement and strategic sourcing experience.
-
Demonstrated experience managing competitive sourcing processes, contract negotiations, and supplier relationships.
-
Strong understanding of procurement principles, supply chain practices, and contract management.
Preferred:
-
Enrollment in, or completion of, a professional designation such as:
-
Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP)
-
Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
-
Or an equivalent procurement/supply chain certification.
-
Experience supporting capital projects and major equipment procurement.
-
Knowledge of strategic sourcing methodologies and supplier performance management.
