The Emergency Health I&IT Solutions and Technology Management Branch is seeking a Server Support Analyst to support and enhance critical technology environments that enable the delivery of essential health services across Ontario.
In this role, you will provide technical leadership in the planning, design, implementation, optimization, and support of enterprise server infrastructure and related technologies. You will work closely with clients, project teams, and technical specialists to deliver reliable, secure, and innovative technology solutions that support business and operational objectives.
In this role, you will:
- provide technical leadership in assessing client business and technology requirements and recommending infrastructure solutions that support operational goals
- analyze the impact of program, policy, or business changes on existing technology environments and identify appropriate solutions
- support enterprise server infrastructure by monitoring performance, conducting capacity planning, troubleshooting issues, and recommending improvements
- evaluate emerging technologies, software releases, and hardware solutions and provide recommendations regarding their suitability for operational and project needs
- participate in the planning, design, testing, implementation, and ongoing support of complex server and infrastructure solutions
- conduct research and feasibility assessments in new areas of technology and prepare recommendations, reports, proposals, and business cases
- provide technical advice and expertise regarding infrastructure architecture, software and hardware acquisition, and technology standards
- collaborate with vendors, clients, project teams, and technical specialists to support the delivery of technology initiatives
- develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, procedures, and support materials
- provide guidance and knowledge-sharing to team members and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Please note: Job requires on-call, standby and occasional return to work to provide technical support to ministry-critical systems on a 24-hour, 7 days a week basis. Job requires travel and, for that purpose, a valid driver's licence is required.

- experience supporting and administering enterprise server, virtualization, operating system, and infrastructure technologies
- knowledge of current and emerging technologies, such as Microsoft Server, VMware, Linux, Citrix, automation tools, and related enterprise platforms
- experience with automation, scripting, system administration, configuration management, or infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Python, Ansible, Jenkins or similar technologies)
- knowledge of server, network, data centre, and IT security concepts and practices
- knowledge of systems analysis, application support, infrastructure design, testing, implementation, and operational support methodologies
- ability to analyze business and technical requirements and identify effective technology solutions
- experience evaluating software, hardware, infrastructure, and operational options to support business needs
- ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues in enterprise environments
- experience applying structured problem-management and continuous-improvement approaches
- ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
- experience preparing technical documentation, reports, presentations, recommendations, or business cases
- ability to build effective working relationships with clients, vendors, project teams, and technical stakeholders
- interpersonal and consultation skills to provide advice, recommendations, and technical guidance
- knowledge of project delivery approaches and experience contributing to infrastructure, technology, or operational projects
- ability to support planning, testing, implementation, and change management activities
- knowledge of procurement, vendor management, or technology acquisition processes
- knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, standards, and workplace health and safety requirements
