Our work is built on safety, efficiency, and doing things right the first time. We are growing and looking to add a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to support our fleet and keep our operations moving.
Position Overview
This is a hands-on role for an experienced mechanic capable of independently diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a range of heavy equipment and trucks. You will play a critical role in minimizing downtime and ensuring equipment reliability across active job sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment and trucks (excavators, loaders, dump trucks, service trucks)
- Perform preventative maintenance including oil changes, hydraulic servicing, filters, brakes, and electrical systems
- Inspect equipment and identify issues before they lead to failures or delays
- Repair and maintain diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and air brake systems
- Complete service records, work orders, and parts tracking accurately
- Coordinate parts and inventory requirements to support repairs
- Perform field service work as required on active job sites
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in line with company safety standards
QualificationsExperience & Technical Skills
- 3+ years experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic (civil construction environment preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and air brakes
- Experience with excavators, loaders, dump trucks, and light-duty fleet vehicles
- Ability to diagnose issues independently and complete repairs efficiently
- Welding and fabrication experience is considered an asset
Education & Certifications
- Trade certification (Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician or equivalent) preferred
- Relevant technical training or apprenticeship experience will be considered
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding work
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Capable of working in tight spaces and on active construction sites
Work Environment
- Combination of shop and field-based work
- Monday–Friday schedule, with occasional extended hours based on project demands
