The Role:
We’re looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Pharmacy Assistant to join the amazing Pocketpills team on a full-time basis. Bring your pharmacy expertise and passion for patient care to a team dedicated to making healthcare simpler and more accessible.
Job Duties:
- Provide exceptional support to members by responding to prescription, medication, billing, insurance, and service-related inquiries.
- Strong understanding of prescription processing, including interpreting prescriptions, preparing SIGs/Signature (directions for use), and accurately digitizing handwritten prescriptions into pharmacy systems.
- Manage member interactions through multiple communication channels, including phone, email, SMS, and chat.
- Process new and refill prescriptions, refill requests, and prescription-related documentation.
- Review and adjudicate prescription requests while ensuring accuracy and compliance with pharmacy standards.
- Verify prescription information for completeness, accuracy, and appropriate processing.
- Support pharmacy team members in maintaining service quality, accuracy, and member satisfaction.
- Assist members with medication-related questions by applying knowledge of commonly prescribed medications and pharmacy processes.
- Assist pharmacists with prescription processing activities in accordance with the College of Pharmacy regulations.
- Document, track, and resolve member requests while maintaining ownership through completion.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows and enhance the overall member experience.
- Review and troubleshoot insurance claims, coverage issues, and adjudication challenges.
- Take a hands-on approach to resolve every issue, owning it from start to finish.
- Reviewing and processing every request accurately. Maintain productivity, accuracy, and quality standards while managing multiple priorities.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 2–5 years of pharmacy experience, including prescription processing, pharmacy operations and adjudication experience.
- Experience reviewing prescription information and identifying medication-related details.
- Experience with pharmacy billing systems and insurance adjudication processes.
- Knowledge of prescription terminology, SIG/signature instructions, and pharmacy workflows.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with pharmacy and support teams.
- Ability to adapt and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with computer systems and digital communication platforms.
Compensation for this full time role ranges from $23.00 to $28.00 per hour and is determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market alignment.
