Fort Saskatchewan Families First Society (Family Resource Network) as well as within community areas in Sturgeon Region.

Position Summary
The Network Liaison supports the Fort Saskatchewan and Sturgeon Region Family Resource Network Hub by strengthening collaboration among partner agencies and helping ensure coordinated, integrated services across the region. This role maintains seamless referral pathways, serves as a key connection point for external partners, conducts participant intakes, and works closely with the intake team to link individuals to appropriate supports. The Liaison represents the FRN in the community, manages essential information systems, and promotes consistent network branding. Grounded in trauma‑informed practice, the position helps create welcoming spaces and provides insight that supports responsive, community‑driven programming.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Initiate and maintain regular contact with community partners to share FRN program information and gather updates that support agency operations and participant needs.
- Attend and coordinate community events as an FRN representative, ensuring accurate knowledge of programming and preventing duplication of partner involvement.
- Maintain ongoing communication with external stakeholders through community meetings to identify gaps, strengthen collaboration, and avoid duplication of services.
- Build and sustain transparent relationships with FRN partners, including BGC Fort Saskatchewan and Creating Hope Society, and support onboarding of new partners.
- Track partner engagement, meeting attendance, and collaboration activities.
- Coordinate smooth, consistent referral pathways across all FRN partner organizations and facilitate referrals with clear communication and timely follow‑up.
- Conduct comprehensive intakes for individuals and families experiencing complex and intersecting challenges, including family violence, mental health concerns, substance use, housing instability, and financial hardship, while completing risk assessments and determining service pathways.
- Support participants who reach out to Families First via phone, social media, email, walk‑ins, and provide support to those on the waitlists.
- Maintain daily coordination with the Intake Coordinator and provide coverage in their absence
- Manage participant support programs (Shower and Laundry Passes, Shopping Vouchers).
- Promote consistent FRN branding by messaging the Network as a partnership of three organizations and emphasizing each partner’s integral role.
- Coordinate FRN meetings, document discussions, and circulate information to ensure consistent communication across the Network.
- Maintain updated partner lists, information boards, and distribute FRN and community program information across the region.
- Support development and use of clear FRN communication materials such as posters, calendars, processes, updates, and templates.
- Able to use Canva to develop posters, social media graphics, and other marketing materials that align with Families First Society’s branding
- Stay attuned to community needs including successes, gaps, challenges, and waitlists to contribute insights to strategic planning and programming.
- Support data collection, evaluation, and reporting requirements.
- Foster an inviting, inclusive environment for individuals accessing Families First spaces in - Fort Saskatchewan and the Sturgeon Region.
- Provide trauma‑informed, unconditional positive regard and build strong rapport with individuals and families accessing Families First.
- Utilize screening tools such as ASQ, SDQ, Family Violence Prevention Protocol, and ASIST Suicide Prevention.
- Advocate for the needs of children, youth, and families within the FRN and broader community.
- Participate in bi‑weekly consultations with leadership to align work with FRN priorities.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in human services field, or a minimum of four years of related experience
- Knowledge of Fort Saskatchewan/Sturgeon Region communities, resources, and service systems.
- Experience supporting systems navigation, referrals, and community-based coordination.
- Skilled in screenings, assessments, documentation, case management, and service coordination.
- Excellent interpersonal skills/communication and strong relationship-based practice.
- Strong time management, organization, and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, dynamic role.
- Solid understanding of human development, trauma-informed care and strength based approaches
- Experience working with individuals experiencing complex needs in high emotional states
- Knowledge of screening tools such as Ages and Stages Questionnaires, Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaires, Family Violence Prevention Protocol, and suicide prevention frameworks
- Social media literacy and ability to communicate professionally across digital platforms.
- Proficiency with Canva or similar tools for creating clear, accessible communication materials.
- Flexibility to work days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
- Access to a reliable vehicle and a clean driving record.
- Ability to provide a criminal record check and intervention record check.

Compensation: $27 - $30 / hour (based on education / experience) and benefit package.
