Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Prep Lead to oversee food preparation operations in our busy kitchen. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service, cooking, and meal preparation, with a focus on maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. As a Prep Lead, you will coordinate daily prep activities, ensure efficient workflow, and support the kitchen team to deliver exceptional dining experiences. Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the food preparation process, ensuring timely and accurate meal assembly
- Oversee food handling procedures to maintain safety and sanitation standards
- Assist with cooking and meal preparation as needed, setting an example for team members
- Ensure all ingredients are properly stored, labeled, and rotated according to safety protocols
- Train and mentor kitchen staff on food safety practices, prep techniques, and proper use of equipment
- Maintain cleanliness of work stations and ensure compliance with health regulations
- Collaborate with management to plan menus and optimize kitchen operations
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, communicating needs for restocking
Requirements
- Proven experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environment with a focus on food preparation and cooking
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and handling procedures
- Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role within the food industry is preferred
- Excellent serving skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of meal preparation techniques and food industry best practices
- Strong communication skills and ability to lead a team effectively
- Flexibility to work in fast-paced environments with a focus on quality and safety
Pay: $45,000.00-$50,000.00 per year
