We are actively recruiting for a Personal Support Worker to assist a private female employer with chronic pain, who is visually impaired and uses a wheelchair in all activities of daily living.
The employer enjoys watching Hockey, listening to music, and gardening on the patio. The employer has severe allergies to Kiwi and Peppers.
The ideal candidate will learn the employer’s strict celiac diet and will not bring food that isn’t gluten free into the home and will learn what she can eat and the recipes for her meals. The employer also has sever allergies to cannabis.
Start Date: July 13, 2026
Location:
- Keremeos, BC (Near the Ranch Restaurant)
Shifts and hours:
- Monday to Friday: 12:00AM to 4:00AM
- Saturday and Sunday: 9:00AM to 4:00PM
- Saturday and Sunday: 4:00PM to 12:00AM
- Saturday and Sunday: 12:00AM to 3:00AM
Compensation:
Responsibilities will include (but may not be limited to):
- Daily personal care such as toileting, bathing, catheter care
- Transfers using both a manual, and powered assistant lift (This is done only over the bed)
- Meal preparation: cutting foods, learning recipes for the employer strict Celiac diet, only gluten free, NO kiwis and peppers.
- Assisting with making grocery lists and picking up items from the store that can’t be ordered
- Feeding assistance
- Housekeeping duties: laundry, cleaning up any messes promptly as it can cause a collision with the employer due to low on vision.
- Medication: Ordering medication, making sure when they have zero refills to call the specific Doctor; Sorting medication into trays for the month, and putting the correct ones needed on the bedside table for nighttime.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be gluten free while in the home
- Must be okay working in an environment with a dog (Golden retriever)
- Must be physically fit and able to lift the employer out of the car, in the bathroom, etc.
- Driver’s License and Vehicle required
- Smoking/vaping must be done outside
- No cannabis due to sever allergies even when on peoples clothing
- Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and have a recent flu shot
Pay: $23.00 per hour
