Brouwer Kesmac is a leading manufacturer of turf equipment based in Keswick, Ontario. As a full-service manufacturing facility, we handle everything from fabrication of sub-assemblies and welding to painting and final assembly of complete sod harvesters.
We are currently seeking an experienced Machine Builder to join our Automatic Sod Harvester Department. This role is ideal for a dependable, detail-oriented individual who takes pride in their work and is eager to grow and develop new skills in a specialized industry.
Position Summary
The Machine Builder is responsible for assembling, fabricating, and installing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of mechanical systems, is comfortable using hand and power tools, and can interpret technical drawings with accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Fit and install prefabricated parts to create sub-assemblies and finished products
- Assemble mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Follow proper assembly sequence, completing sub-assemblies independently
- Meet production schedules and maintain required pace of work
- Perform grinding, fitting, and adjustments to ensure proper fit and function
- Work from production schedules and assist with expediting parts when required
- Inspect completed products to ensure proper function and safety compliance
- Maintain high standards of quality and accountability for own work
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies

Qualifications & Requirements
- Mechanically inclined with strong problem-solving skills
- 1–3 years of experience in a similar manufacturing or assembly environment
- Experience building or repairing heavy or agricultural equipment is an asset
- Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems is an asset
- Experience using handheld pneumatic and electric tools
- Reliable, punctual, and well-organized
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Valid driver’s licence
Working Conditions
This position operates within a manufacturing environment and requires:
- Standing, walking, bending, crouching, and repetitive tasks
- Lifting, pushing, or pulling materials up to 50 lbs
- Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE), including:
- Steel-toe boots
- Eye, ear, and hand protection
