General Production Worker
$19.00 per hour | 3-Month Assignment
Nova Staffing is currently hiring General Production Workers for a busy food processing facility. This is a great opportunity for reliable, hardworking individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
As a General Production Worker, you will play an important role in the processing and packaging of food products while maintaining strict quality, safety, and sanitation standards.
Schedule
5 Days On, 1 Day Off Rotation
Day Shift: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Night Shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
Employees will be assigned to either a day shift or night shift schedule based on operational requirements.
Responsibilities
- Operate food processing and packaging equipment safely and efficiently
- Set up, monitor, and adjust processing machinery as required
- Verify processing conditions and ensure products meet quality standards
- Inspect products and remove defects or impurities during production
- Monitor production lines and maintain consistent product flow
- Record production information including quantities, weights, lot numbers, dates, and product types
- Track raw material usage throughout the production process
- Perform minor machine adjustments and clear blockages when necessary
- Clean machinery and immediate work areas to maintain food safety standards
- Monitor ingredient levels and production supplies to reduce waste and maintain efficiency
- Report mechanical issues and equipment concerns to supervisors
- Follow all food safety, GMP, quality control, and workplace safety procedures
- Support production goals while maintaining a clean and organized work environment
Qualifications
- Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year of manufacturing, production, warehouse, food processing, or related experience
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Safety-conscious mindset with the ability to follow workplace procedures
- Comfortable working with products including onions, wheat, frozen blueberries, carrots, and other food ingredients
- English language proficiency with a minimum CLB Level 4
- Physically capable of standing for extended periods, lifting, bending, and performing repetitive tasks
