We are looking for a Heavy Equipment Operator to join our growing metal recycling operation. This position will operate either recycling Baler or Liebherr L50 with over 80% of the day inside the equipment. This role is ideal for an operator who takes pride in working safely, leading by example, and keeping a busy yard running efficiently.

Schedule & Compensation
✅ $28.00 per hour
✅ Monday - Friday
✅ 6:30 AM - 4:30 PM
✅ Regular Saturday overtime available
✅ Stable year-round work
✅ 80-90% of the position spent inside the machine
What You'll Do
- Operate and monitor either a baler or Liebherr L50 at a large metal recycling facility safely and efficiently
- Process ferrous and non-ferrous scrap materials
- Sort and identify incoming scrap metal materials
- Maintain production flow while ensuring quality standards are met
- Inspect material for contaminants and unacceptable items
- Work closely with production personnel, truck drivers, and other equipment operators
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns
- Follow all safety, environmental, and operational procedures
- Support yard operations as needed
What We're Looking For
Required
- Experience operating equipment such as:
- Baler
- Liebherr L50
- Bobcat / Skid Steer
- Crane
- Excavator
- Forklift
- Loader
- Other heavy equipment
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced industrial environment
- Ability to multitask and stay focused on production and quality
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. when required
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driver's abstract
- Strong work ethic and reliability
Preferred
- Heavy equipment operating experience
- Recycling, manufacturing, construction, demolition, or industrial experience
- Experience sorting or handling scrap metal
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
No previous Baler or Liebherr experience? No problem. We are willing to train the right person.
Working Environment
This position is based at an active metal recycling facility. Employees work around heavy equipment, trucks, scrap metal, and industrial machinery. Most of the shift is spent operating equipment in a cab while maintaining awareness of the surrounding work environment.
