Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter/Plasterer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying paint, coatings, and plaster to various surfaces, ensuring high-quality finishes that meet project specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of construction painting techniques, carpentry skills. The Painter/Plasterer will contribute to the successful completion of residential and commercial projects, maintaining safety standards and delivering exceptional craftsmanship.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and repairing as needed before painting or plastering
- Apply paint, stain, varnish, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
- Mix and match paints to achieve desired colors and textures
- Install or repair drywall, plaster, and other wall coverings in accordance with project specifications
- Perform caulking around windows, doors, and seams to ensure a weather-tight finish
- Collaborate with carpenters and other trades to coordinate work activities
- Maintain a clean work environment by properly disposing of waste materials and cleaning tools after use
- Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with OSHA standards
Skills
- Proven experience in construction painting and plastering techniques
- Knowledge of caulking methods for sealing joints and gaps effectively
- Handyman experience is a plus, demonstrating versatility across various tasks on-site
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
- Good physical stamina to perform manual tasks over extended periods
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and understanding project needs
