Job Summary:
Power Plus Mobility designs and manufactures custom-built wheelchairs tailored directly to the specific mobility needs of our clients. We are seeking a Junior to Mid-Level TIG/MIG Welder to join our production team in Guelph. Blueprint reading is not required—we use standard templates, setups, and jigs. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with foundational welding skills who wants to build their experience and grow their career within a stable manufacturing environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform basic to intermediate TIG and MIG welding on thin-walled steel and aluminum tubes.
- Use specialized fixtures, clamps, and welding jigs to align and fit parts together before welding.
- Learn from senior fabricators and continuously improve your welding techniques over time.
- Inspect your own welds to ensure they are strong, clean, and safe for wheelchair frames.
- Grind, sand, and finish metal welds to meet smooth, medical-grade aesthetic standards.
Qualifications:
- Foundational or moderate experience with TIG and MIG welding (schooling, apprenticeships, or 1–2 years shop experience).
- Experience welding thin metal or tubing is an asset, but we are willing to train the right person.
- No blueprint reading required—must be able to follow simple verbal or written step-by-step instructions.
- Keen eye for detail, safety-first mindset, and a strong desire to learn and grow.
- Punctual, reliable, and capable of working well with a supportive production team.
