What you’ll do
Reporting to the Team Leader, Resourcing, you will provide HR advice and services with a focus on executive recruitment (Executive-level positions), while also contributing to broader HR programs.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver and support end-to-end executive (senior-level) staffing processes, ensuring they are timely, efficient, and aligned with policies and best practices
- Provide advice and guidance to managers on executive recruitment, assessment approaches, and staffing requirements
- Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to support executive talent initiatives, including process improvements and workforce planning activities
- Work closely with the Talent Programs team to support executive-level development, talent pipelines, and succession considerations
- Prepare briefing materials, reports, and communications to support decision-making and staffing activities
- Contribute to projects and continuous improvement efforts to modernize executive staffing and enhance service delivery
Essential Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree from a recognized university with specialization in human resources, management, public or business administration or an acceptable combination of relevant education and experience
Language Requirements:
Bilingual imperative with proficiency at CBC level. If you are unsure of your proficiency level, we encourage you to self-assess here
Experience:
- Providing HR advice and guidance to managers or clients
- Supporting or leading executive level recruitment processes
- Conducting research and analysis, and developing recommendations
- Building and maintaining effective working relationships with stakeholders, including senior leaders (Director General (EX-03) or higher)
- Preparing written materials such as reports, presentations, or briefing notes
- Manage confidential and high-profile recruitment processes with discretion
- Experience with digital tools such as Microsoft 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and HR systems or applicant tracking systems
Knowledge of:
- Knowledge of legislation, policies and trends in Human Resources Management
- Recruitment and talent management practices for the executive-level cadre
- Applicable employment-related legislation and frameworks
- Research and analysis methods
Ability to:
- Provide clear, practical, and strategic HR advice, including on sensitive or complex matters
- Analyze information and data to develop sound recommendations
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a wide range of audiences, including senior management

Asset Qualification:
- Experience managing HR projects or initiatives from start to finish
- Experience in a Regulatory/science-based organization
- Certification in change management
- Basic knowledge of psychometric assessment tools and practices used to support staffing, talent management, and leadership development.
- Professional HR designation (e.g., CHRP)
Operational Needs:
All CNSC staff are subject to the Mobility Directive.
