Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Lawn Care Technician to join our landscaping team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for outdoor maintenance, gardening, and landscape aesthetics. This role involves working outdoors to maintain and enhance residential and commercial properties, ensuring lush, healthy lawns and beautiful landscapes. Prior experience with horticulture, landscape maintenance, and mechanical tools is highly valued. The position offers opportunities for skill development in irrigation systems, construction techniques, and equipment operation.
Duties
- Mow, trim, and edge lawns to maintain a neat appearance using hand tools and power tools
- Operate machinery such as excavators and other landscaping equipment safely and efficiently
- Perform gardening tasks including planting, fertilizing, pruning, and weed control
- Conduct landscape maintenance activities like aeration, overseeding, and soil conditioning
- Assist with construction projects related to landscape features such as patios or retaining walls
- Maintain equipment through regular cleaning, lubrication, and mechanical troubleshooting
- Identify and address issues related to plant health or landscape structure
- Follow safety protocols during all maintenance activities to ensure a safe work environment
Requirements
- Experience with landscaping equipment including hand tools, power tools, and mechanical systems
- Knowledge of horticulture principles, irrigation systems, and garden care techniques
- Familiarity with excavation machinery such as excavators is a plus
- Strong understanding of landscape maintenance practices and construction basics
- Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment issues effectively
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining attention to detail
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials and operate machinery safely
- Prior experience in gardening or horticulture is preferred but not mandatory
- Valid driver's license is beneficial for transporting equipment or traveling between job sites
