Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating various types of forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers, to efficiently manage inventory and support warehouse operations. This role requires mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to perform heavy lifting tasks. The Forklift Operator plays a vital role in maintaining smooth warehouse distribution processes and ensuring accurate order picking.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers, to move products and materials within the warehouse
- Load and unload goods from trucks, pallets, or storage areas with precision and care
- Perform order picking using appropriate equipment to fulfill customer orders accurately
- Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Conduct routine inspections of forklift equipment to ensure safety and proper functioning
- Assist with stock organization, rotation, and storage optimization
- Use basic math skills to verify quantities and measurements during operations
- Follow safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents and injuries during heavy lifting or equipment operation
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely order fulfillment
Experience
- Prior experience in warehouse distribution or logistics environments is preferred
- Proficiency in operating various types of forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers, is highly desirable
- Mechanical knowledge related to forklift maintenance and troubleshooting is a plus
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory control and order processing
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively for extended periods
- Basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and data entry are required
- Previous experience with order picking processes is advantageous
