Cosmetic Sales Representative/ Associate Buyer
A Cosmetic Sales Representative promotes and sells beauty, skincare, and fragrance products to customers, retailers, or salons. They focus on brand product knowledge, customer education, and achieving sales targets. Understands market trends and inventory management maintains good relationships with vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Generation: Drive revenue by meeting or exceeding individual sales quotas and targets.
- Customer Engagement: Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, assessing their needs, and providing tailored product recommendations.
- Product Expertise: Maintain in-depth knowledge of skin types, ingredients, product benefits, and current beauty trends.
- Demonstrations: Apply products (skincare, makeup) to customers to demonstrate usage and effectiveness.
- Merchandising: Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the product counter, including restocking shelves and ensuring attractive displays. Being able to use Canva and asset.
- Relationship Management: Build long-term relationships with clients to encourage repeat business and brand loyalty.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels and analyze sales performance to determine when and how much product to reorder.
- Market Research: Stay up-to-date with emerging beauty trends, competitor products, and consumer preferences.
- Supplier Relations: Assist in negotiating with suppliers regarding pricing, delivery terms, and product selection.
- Collaboration: Work with the marketing and sales teams to align purchasing with upcoming promotions and campaigns.
- Product Selection: Help curate product assortments that align with brand values and meet customer demands.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in cosmetic sales or retail (2+ years preferred).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in POS systems and cash handling.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
- Experience in retail buying, merchandising, or inventory control.
- Strong analytical skills
- Understanding of the cosmetics market and consumer behavior.
- Negotiation skills and attention to detail
- Working as a part of a team
Starting wage $20/hour
30 hours a week
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
