About the Role:
The Preventative Maintenance Mechanic/Millwright is responsible for installing or dismantling machinery and equipment according to company plans, blueprints, and other diagrams. This will be accomplished through the safe and effective use of hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools. This position also requires that the Millwright troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic problems with associated equipment. The Millwright is also responsible for repairing malfunctioning equipment, such as motors, pumps, valves, controls, packaging machinery, conveyors, and other machines.
- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, gearboxes, pneumatics, conveyor systems, and high-speed packaging machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
- Safe use of all hand tools (Grinders, drilling equipment, saws, etc.) to fabricate parts during overhaul, maintenance and set up of machinery.
- Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
- Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
- Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
- Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
- Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Use SAP to create and close work orders, record parts consumption (goods movements) and update preventive-maintenance logs
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor to support operational and business requirements
- Assist in the training and development of Machine Operators, M1’s and M2s, ensuring adherence to established procedures, quality standards, and safe work practices.
Important Details: This is a full-time permanent role on the Afternoon Shift, which operates Monday through Friday from 2:45 PM – 11:00 PM
About You:
You’ll fit right in if you have:
- 433A Millwright mechanic certification .
- Must be a holder of a valid licensed Industrial Millwright certificate/ with packaging equipment experience.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Minimum grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
- Good computer skills are required.
- Self-starter who is willing to take the initiative and be a team player.
- Provide timely and high-quality work with exceptional attention to detail.
Demonstrated experience following instructions/process documents and providing effective communication, both verbal and written
