This Position requires relocation to Bigstone Cree Nation (approx. 1 hour from Slave Lake AB)
IT Technician is responsible for:
- Technical Support: Ensure that Bigstone Cree Nation Education Authority has working computers systems with good Internet access. Responsible and ensure that all daily customer backups are being completed and verified. Ensure that Bigstone has updated antivirus and malware. Technician must respond remotely or onsite, track all assigned requests and provide support and reporting as defined by the client companies Service Level Agreement.
- Communication: Provide impeccable and consistent communication for status updates to clients; continuously follow up with clients on services rendered to ensure their satisfaction. Maintain consistent communication with the Service Desk Coordinator, especially on issues of significant failures, outages, and service issues with key clients or VIP.
- Technical Productivity: Provide technical consulting and advice to clients and on projects as requested.
Technical Requirements:
- Mobile device support.
- Carry out detailed troubleshooting, research to identify issue's root cause, implement a solution, or effectively escalate a problem to other technical support team members when required.
- Server 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2019; Small Business Server (2008/2011) mastery.
- Advanced Networking and Firewall implementation and troubleshooting.
- PC Hardware installation and troubleshooting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Ecosystems:
- Microsoft Active Directory
- Microsoft Windows 7 and/or 10 installation and troubleshooting
- Microsoft Office installation and troubleshooting
- Microsoft Exchange and Office365
- Microsoft Remote Desktop Services
- Printer and MFP experience.
- Apple iOS
- Assets: SonicWALL Firewalls, VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Dell, HP Server Hardware, Microsoft SQL Server Installation and Administration, Accpac Accounting, Apple and Mac experience.
- Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure.
