Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kennel Attendant to join our team at our animal care facility. This role is vital in ensuring the health, safety, and comfort of our animals while providing excellent customer service to pet owners. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals, strong work ethic, and the ability to handle physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment. Duties
- Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and common areas to maintain a hygienic environment
- Feed and provide fresh water to animals according to established schedules
- Monitor animals for signs of illness or distress and report concerns to veterinary staff or management
- Assist with daily exercise routines and socialization activities for the animals
- Administer basic care such as administering medications or treatments as directed by veterinary staff
- Handle heavy lifting when moving supplies, bedding, or animals safely and efficiently
- Provide friendly and professional customer service to pet owners during drop-off and pick-up times
- Maintain accurate records of animal care activities and any incidents or observations
- Answer the phone, use a computer system and interact with clients in a courteous manner
Experience
- Prior experience working with animals is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Strong customer service skills are essential for interacting positively with pet owners
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely, often involving crates, supplies, or animals weighing up to 50 pounds
- Compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a busy environment
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the shift

Pay: $15.00-$22.34 per hour
