Job Description: ETL QA*
Toronto, ON
Hybrid (2 days per week in Toronto office is preferred)
Role and Responsibilities:
- Execute test plans, scenarios, scripts or procedures
- Preparing test plans/Strategies, scenarios, scripts or procedures
- Preparing data for testing
- Test system modifications to prepare for implementation
- Develop testing programs that addresses areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, or usability
- Document software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to software developers
- Identify, analyze and document problems with program function, output, online screen or content
- Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes
- Create or maintain databases of known test defects
- Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates
MUST HAVE skills and experience:
- QA Test analyst
- 8+ years of experience
- ETL testing experience
- 5+ years of hands on experience
- Database/Backend testing experience (writing and verifying results of medium to high complexity SQL queries)
- Experience writing Unix commands through shell scripting
- In depth knowledge and working experience in Netezza, Sql, Hbase, Kafka and hive.
- Experience working with projects throughout the Agile methodology
- Experience in MS SSIS/SSRS AWS Redshift
- Experience in HP- ALM- Strong prioritization skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong multi-tasking skills covering a wide range of challenges which are independent and distinct
5 “NICE TO HAVE” but not mandatory skills and experience for this requirement:
- Exposure to Cloud/AWS
- Exposure to Visualization tools like Tableau/Power BI
- Knowledge on REST APIs
Pay: $65.00-$70.00 per hour
