Wincon Security is hiring for a Security Guard for one of our commercial sites in Greater Toronto Area for a (2) month contract!

Site: Commercial Patrol Guard
Location: Greater Toronto Area
Position Type: Full-Time Contract (2 months, with the possibility of extension)
Available Shift: Monday to Friday, 2200–0600 hrs (10:00 PM–6:00 AM)
Pay Rate: $18.50–$19.00 per hour, depending on experience

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Must hold a valid Security Guard Licence issued under the Private Security and Investigative Services Act
- Valid First Aid and CPR certificate
- One (1) year of security guard experience, preferably within a commercial/corporate setting
- Must be willing to travel to the Greater Toronto Area; additional fare may be required to travel to some sites
- Must be available to work the required schedule on a regular basis: Monday to Friday, 2200–0600 hrs
- Must be comfortable working independently as the sole Security Guard on site
- Must be comfortable interacting professionally with members of the general public and addressing unauthorized individuals/trespassers as required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, including up and down stairs
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and composed when dealing with challenging situations
- Act as a first responder on site regarding emergencies and fire alarms, as well as assist Police and Medical Staff when required
Responsibilities Include
- Maintain a visible and professional security presence on site
- Acknowledge tenants, visitors, and customers as they enter and exit the building
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients, customers, contractors, visitors, and other members of the public
- Perform routine interior and exterior property patrols
- Respond to fire alarms and other emergency situations in accordance with site procedures
- Detect, challenge, and displace unwanted or unauthorized persons from the property in accordance with applicable legislation and site procedures
- Independently manage incidents involving trespassing or unauthorized persons while working as the sole guard on site
- Interact professionally and confidently with members of the general public and individuals who are trespassing or otherwise unauthorized to be on site
- Promote safety and adhere to client site emergency procedures
- Serve as the on-site First Aid responder until qualified medical assistance arrives
- Record and maintain log books of daily activities
- Complete daily documentation in the memo book and submit notes and incident reports as required
- Follow all site-specific procedures, client directives, and escalation protocols

- Maintaining alertness and vigilance throughout assigned shifts, including evenings, overnight, and extended hours
- Conducting interior and exterior patrols, which may involve prolonged standing, walking, stair use, and exposure to varying environmental conditions
- Responding appropriately to alarms, incidents, and emergency situations, which may require mobility and physical responsiveness
- Completing accurate written and electronic reports
- Communicating effectively and interacting professionally with clients, residents, and the public
- Following site-specific procedures and client-directed protocols, including access control and escalation processes
- Working independently and exercising sound judgment when responding to incidents, including interactions with unauthorized persons or members of the public
These requirements are reasonably necessary to meet operational and safety obligations, including those under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
