About the Role
Job Summary
The Payroll Administrator is responsible for supporting the Finance/HR Team through accurate payroll processing and administration of the payroll function. This role requires strong payroll knowledge, attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while supporting employees and management across the organization.
The successful candidate will have experience using ADP Workforce Now, a solid understanding of payroll practices, and the ability to manage sensitive information with professionalism and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
· Maintain and update employee payroll information, including attendance records, leave, overtime, and other payroll-related data.
· Calculate employee pay and benefit entitlements in Canadian currency using ADP Workforce Now.
· Prepare and verify employee statements of earnings, including gross pay, net pay, statutory deductions, garnishments, benefits, RRSP contributions, and other payroll deductions.
· Prepare, verify, and process employee payroll payments, including regular wages, bonuses, vacation pay, and other special payments.
· Prepare payroll-related filings and supporting documentation, including T4s, Records of Employment, RRSP documentation, and other required statements.
· Prepare and balance period-end payroll reports.
· Reconcile issued payroll and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely manner.
· Maintain accurate and confidential employee, payroll, and financial records.
· Communicate professionally with employees, management, and internal departments regarding payroll matters.
· Support the Finance Team with additional administrative, reporting, and accounting-related tasks as required.
Qualifications & Experience
· Minimum of 3 years of experience using ADP Workforce Now.
· Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Payroll Administration, or a related field.
· Strong knowledge of payroll administration, payroll tax, employment standards, and related legal requirements.
· Experience with full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable.
· Visual experience is considered an asset.
· Fluent in English.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
· Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
· Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
· Comfortable communicating with all levels of management across various departments and divisions.
· Flexible and willing to perform a variety of accounting, payroll, and administrative support tasks.
