Forage FTE operates in the drilling industry, with job sites located across Canada. We're looking for a site mechanic to maintain and repair our drill rigs and trucks, directly in the field.
The Role
Fly-in fly-out position: you travel from site to site across Canada. You work on the electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components of heavy equipment, often independently and away from a shop.
Your Day-to-Day Tasks
- Diagnose and repair the electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components of drill rigs and trucks
- Adjust machinery, repair or replace defective parts
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment
- Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance on machinery
- Prepare parts lists and estimate the time needed for a repair
- Order and replace worn-out parts, track ongoing availability of materials
- Read plans, diagrams, and technical manuals from the manufacturer
- Write your technical intervention reports and keep daily reporting up to date
- Provide mechanical or maintenance advice to clients directly on-site
- Suggest ways to improve equipment performance and longevity
Required Skills
- DVS (DEP) in mechanics, or equivalent relevant experience
- 5 to 7 years of mechanical experience
- Able to lift loads of about 25 kg and remain standing for long periods
- Autonomous, organized, and safety-conscious
- Willing to travel from site to site across Canada (fly-in fly-out) and adapt to remote regions
