The Tunneling Company offers a range of fit-to-purpose tunneling solutions, including: Guided Boring, Down-the-Hole Hammer, Auger Boring, Pipe Ramming and more. We manage the entire process from pre-planning and design through to construction.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Field Labourer to support field and drilling operations through hands-on labour, equipment maintenance, material handling, and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Provide manual labour and ground support as required
- Load and unload equipment and material onto and off delivery and transportation vehicles
- Rigging and hoisting support
- Maintain worksite, equipment and material organization and cleanliness.
- Perform routine inspections of equipment
- Monitor and maintain fuel levels in equipment, and water levels in water tanks
- Operate hand and power tools and portable equipment as required
- Operate a light motor vehicle (crew truck) as required to pick up parts.
- Advise workers of potential hazards within the jobsite.
- Participate in safety management system by joining meetings, completing FLHA’s and Hazard ID’s
- Perform labour duties and assist in drilling activities when required.
Experience and Training Requirements
Required
- 3+ years experience of labour experience in a field environment
- Physically fit and can perform labour intensive duties
- Fluent in English both verbal and written
- Basic knowledge and experience with small power tools
- Valid Class 5 Driver Licence with a clean drivers abstract & reliable transportation
- Successfully pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test prior to employment
- Successfully complete a 50lbs, Level II Health Assessment
- Current Safety tickets: Confined Space Entry/Monitor (In Class), Standard/Intermediate First Aid, CSTS, H2S Alive, Ground Disturbance 201, WHIMS and Fall Protection.
Asset
- A background in construction or oilfield industry
- Class 1 Driver’s Licence
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to be organized, prioritize tasks, and manage changing priorities and processes
- Strong analytical, accuracy, attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Additional Details
- Starting Wage: $36.31 per hour
- Benefits: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage
- Schedule: 21 days on / 7 days off rotation
- Shifts: 8–12 hour shifts with opportunities for overtime and weekend work
- Shift Types: Day and night shifts required
