Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Welder (FCAW) to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have experience in FCAW welding processes and possess a strong understanding of various fabrication and assembly techniques. This role involves working with different materials and components to produce high-quality welded structures, primarily within industrial, construction, and ductwork applications. The Welder (FCAW) will be responsible for interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure precise fabrication and assembly. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in multiple welding methods, including MIG and TIG welding, along with mechanical knowledge and familiarity with power tools and hand tools.
Responsibilities
- Perform FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding) to fabricate and assemble metal components according to specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine welding requirements.
- Utilize MIG welding, TIG welding, plasma cutting, and press brake machines to shape and join materials accurately.
- Operate rigging equipment, cranes, forklifts, and other machinery safely for material handling.
- Use calipers, schematics, and basic math skills to measure and verify dimensions during fabrication.
- Conduct machining operations as needed for component fitting and finishing.
- Perform ductwork fabrication, assembly, and installation tasks within construction or manufacturing environments.
- Maintain a clean work area while adhering to safety protocols related to welding, machining, and material handling.
- Assist in troubleshooting mechanical issues related to welding equipment or fabrication processes.
- Follow safety guidelines for plasma cutting, crane operation, forklift use, and other heavy machinery.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in FCAW welding; proficiency in MIG and TIG welding preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge related to rigging, machining, blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and assembly processes.
- Ability to operate power tools such as hand tools, press brake machines, plasma cutters, and other fabrication equipment.
- Familiarity with crane operation and forklift driving is a plus.
- Strong understanding of basic math skills necessary for precise measurements.
- Knowledge of manufacturing standards related to ductwork construction or general construction projects is desirable.
- Ability to read technical drawings accurately and follow detailed schematics.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on safety compliance in all tasks performed.
