Job Summary:
We are seeking a certified Journeyman/woman Electrician to support electrical maintenance and installation within a busy fabrication shop in Nisku, AB. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining shop equipment, troubleshooting electrical issues, and supporting the safe and efficient operation of fabrication machinery and facilities.This role is best suited for someone with strong industrial experience who is comfortable working around heavy equipment and production environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment within the fabrication shop.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues on shop equipment such as welders, compressors, cranes, and fabrication machinery.
- Perform preventive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Install conduit, cable trays, wiring, and control systems.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Support commissioning and setup of new equipment and shop expansions.
- Coordinate with fabrication and operations teams to minimize disruption to production.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs.
- Adhere strictly to all safety procedures and lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements.
Qualifications
- Valid Journeyman/woman Electrician certification (Alberta or recognized equivalent).
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Experience working with industrial equipment and control systems.
- Solid understanding of electrical safety standards and codes.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in a shop environment with noise, dust, and heavy equipment.
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces when required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $47.00-$56.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 60.0 per week
