Job Title: Structural Aircraft Assembler II
Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday. Must be able to work shifts to accommodate production schedule including days, afternoons, evening and overtime as required. The first shift starts at 5am. The last shift ends at 11:30pm
Salary: $27.20 per hour
Summary:
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, Structural Aircraft Assembler II will be trained on the installation and assembly of components on an aircraft structure through 2-week in-house training school program. Following successful completion of the training program the employee will progress to a Structural Assembler II position where they will apply their acquired skills on the production floor.
Scope of Position:
- Blueprint reading and Hole Layout; countersinking and deburring.
- Fit and installation of conventional rivets and Hi-Lite fasteners.
- Assembly and fit pre-fabricated parts to form subassemblies, working at benches or directly on an aircraft structure.
- Application of manual solvent, conductive chemical conversion treatment and paint touch-ups.
- Work with a variety of power and hand tools, jigs, fixtures and other equipment.
- Work with the cross-functional teams to meet schedule and production requirements.
- Adhere to all Health and Safety regulations and procedures.
Skills and Qualifications
- Experienced with hand/power tools for drilling, countersinking, torquing, installing (fasteners, hi-lites).
- Experienced to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings (2D and 3D). Sub-assemblies, sheet metal assembly, mechanical assembly, etc.
- Ability to work shifts to accommodate production scheduling.
- Must have past experience within an aerospace or manufacturing environment.
- Flexibility and willingness to learn new tasks.
Must be physically fit, energetic, agile, willing and able to:
- work in restricted spaces (tanks)
- work at heights (3rd floor of jigs)
- work rotating shifts when and as required
- bend, twist, walk on uneven surfaces and climb stairs repeatedly during shift
- perform heavy lifting (< 40 lbs) as needed to perform the job
- stand for 9 hours of a 10 hour shift
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Sheet Metal Fabrication Course or similar.
- 1 - 4 years of experience in Aircraft Assembly is required.
The Employer will conduct criminal background check.
