JOB DESCRIPTION:
HR Project Partners is currently accepting resumes for an ETP Water Treatment Operator on behalf of our client, Equinox Gold, Valentine Gold Mine. The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 3 years’ experience operating wastewater or ETP systems in a mining environment.
Reporting to the Process Plant Operations Supervisor, the ETP Water Treatment Operator monitors and operates control systems and related equipment in water filtration and treatment plants to regulate the treatment and distribution of water. Including managing wastewater facilities, ensuring that pollutants are safely removed before the water is discharged or reused. This role will be responsible for regulating plant equipment, testing water chemistry, and ensuring strict compliance with local environmental regulations

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Regulate valves, pumps, and motors to control water flow, aeration, and chemical dosing.
- Collect water samples and conduct routine laboratory tests to ensure effluent meets regulatory discharge standards.
- Monitor and inspect plant equipment and systems to detect equipment malfunctions and to ensure plant systems are operating normally.
- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot malfunctions, and repair plant machinery.
- Monitor, measure, and safely replenish chemicals and nutrients required for the wastewater treatment process.
- Complete and maintain accurate daily logs of plant operations, reports, and statistics.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Post-secondary education in environmental science or water quality technology; or a considerable amount of experience in a similar role.
- A minimum of 3 years experience operating wastewater or ETP systems in a mining environment.
- Experience in an industrial or remote work site is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ATTRIBUTES:
- Ability to interpret engineering plans and offer sound technical expertise with regards to drill and blast designs.
- Ability to influence and inspire others and manage cross-functional relationships.
- Good computer skills with competence using Microsoft Office products.
