Job Overview
We are seeking a vigilant and dedicated Security Guard to join the Xtreme Security Inc. team for a retail client in Nelson, BC. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients, employees, and retail customers. This role requires strong observational skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to respond effectively to various situations. The Security Guard will monitor premises, conduct regular patrols, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to maintain security of the premises.
- Conduct regular patrols of the retail property to deter theft, vandalism, and other illegal activities.
- Operate CCTV systems and surveillance equipment to monitor activities in designated areas.
- Respond promptly to alarms and incidents, assessing situations and taking appropriate action.
- Prepare detailed reports on security incidents, including any breaches or unusual occurrences.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement when necessary to ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Assist in loss prevention efforts by identifying potential risks and implementing preventive measures.
Requirements
- Must possess a valid British Columbia Security Worker License.
- Proven experience in law enforcement, loss prevention, or security-related fields is preferred.
- Familiarity with CCTV systems and surveillance techniques is highly desirable.
- Strong observational skills with the ability to remain alert at all times.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively.
- Must be physically fit, capable of standing for long periods and conducting foot patrols as needed.
