We are currently seeking an experienced Class 1 Heavy Haul Driver to join our team. This position is ideal for a professional driver with extensive experience transporting heavy equipment and supporting pipeline, construction, and oilfield operations throughout Alberta.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial vehicles, including lowbeds, hydraulic platform trailers, winch trucks, and multi-axle combinations.
- Transport heavy equipment, construction materials, pipe, and oversized loads throughout Alberta.
- Independently load, secure, transport, and unload heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Complete logbooks, inspection reports, permits, and delivery documentation accurately.
- Coordinate with project managers, dispatch, and field crews to ensure efficient and timely deliveries.
- Comply with all provincial and federal transportation regulations, company policies, and client safety requirements.
- Maintain assigned equipment in a clean, professional, and mechanically sound condition.
Required Qualifications
We are looking for an experienced professional with approximately 10 years of Class 1 driving experience, preferably within the construction, pipeline, or oilfield industries.
Applicants should possess:
- Valid Alberta Class 1 Driver's Licence
- Air Brake (Q) Endorsement
- Clean driver's abstract
- Proven experience operating:
- Hydraulic platform trailers
- Lowbeds
- Winch trucks
- Multi-axle combinations (4+2, 6-axle, or similar)
- Demonstrated ability to independently load, secure, transport, and unload heavy equipment, including:
- Excavators
- Dozers
- Packers
- Skid steers
- Other heavy construction equipment
- Strong knowledge of:
- Oversize and overweight load regulations
- Oversize load permitting
- Pilot vehicle coordination
- Federal Hours of Service regulations
- Commercial vehicle inspections
- Load securement best practices
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
- Willingness to travel and work overtime as project demands require.

Current certifications are preferred (or willingness to obtain if expired):
- H2S Alive
- CSTS 2020
- Standard First Aid & CPR
- Fall Protection
- WHMIS
- TDG
