Ladori Hair Studio is hiring an experienced stylist with specialized expertise in braiding, protective styling, and textured hair care. This is a distinct and important part of our service offering, and we're looking for someone who brings established, hands-on experience to the role.
We are a young, values-driven hair studio in Saint John focused on thoughtful hair care, scalp wellness, and client education. This role plays a key part in expanding our ability to serve clients with textured and curly hair, an area we're growing thoughtfully and with genuine expertise. You'll work closely with the owner to help shape and refine this part of our service menu, so this is a great fit for someone who wants a real hand in building something rather than simply following an existing structure.
About the Role
This position will focus primarily on:
- Braiding and protective styling, including box braids, cornrows, twists, and other protective techniques
- Specialty care and styling for textured and curly hair
- Client consultations on hair health, care routines, and realistic styling expectations
- Collaborating with the studio owner on service menu development
- General styling services as needed to support the team
This role is ideal for someone who is confident working independently, professional, and excited by the opportunity to grow with a small business. As our studio continues to evolve, the right candidate will have the chance to be part of building and refining new services as we grow.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate is someone who:
- Is a licensed cosmetologist with prior salon experience
- Can work confidently and independently with clients
- Understands the techniques, tools, and products specific to textured hair care
- Is comfortable guiding clients through hair health and care conversations
- Enjoys working as part of a small, collaborative team
- Values inclusivity and wants to serve a wide range of clients and hair types
- Is available to work Saturdays (a minimum of 2 per month required, with flexibility on other days)
