Job Overview:
Direct-Way is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Flatbed Dispatcher / Planner (US-CAN) to join our team. The ideal candidate must have strong knowledge of flatbed operations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple loads and drivers efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, assign, and dispatch flatbed loads to drivers efficiently
- Coordinate pickups and deliveries to ensure on-time performance
- Communicate with drivers, brokers, and customers throughout the load lifecycle
- Monitor driver compliance with Hours of Service (HOS) regulations
- Optimize routes and maximize equipment utilization
- Book loads and negotiate rates with brokers and customers
- Track shipments and proactively resolve any delays or issues
- Ensure proper load details, permits, and securement requirements are communicated
- Maintain accurate records and update dispatch systems regularly
- Handle cross-border shipments (Canada & USA) when required
Requirements:
- Minimum 3+ years of verifiable experience in flatbed dispatching/planning.
- Strong understanding of flatbed freight, load securement, and industry regulations
- Knowledge of HOS rules and ELD systems
- Experience with load boards such as DAT and Loadlink
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple drivers/loads
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Familiarity with cross-border operations is an asset
- Strong English and Punjabi Spoken
