Job Overview
We are currently looking for an experienced Financial Analyst to join our Finance team. This is a permanent full-time role and is 100% on-site. The appointee is responsible for supporting the Financial Controller in the following areas: financial reporting, financial planning and analysis, account and bank reconciliations and other projects as needed. This is a great opportunity to gain exposure in a fast-paced environment and growing company. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the appointee will be responsible for the following:
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assists the Financial Controller in implementing financial policies, controls, and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Assists in the preparation of the internal monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and schedules.
- Monitors and ensures the completion of the month-end close process, in conjunction with the Financial Controller.
- Prepares complex reconciliations and resolves discrepancies in financial accounts.
- Supports cash flow management, including forecasting and monitoring of liquidity needs and generating the weekly cash flow report.
- Conducts regular financial variance analysis for key business areas, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Assists in the preparation of the management financial analysis reporting package including identifying and reporting key findings on the results.
- Prepares the daily bank reconciliation, update deposits for AR to process, post bank entries into SAP B1, and update cashflow projection report.
- Reviews payment runs for recommendation and approval.
- Remits various tax accounts including GST, QST, and PST, on a timely basis.
- Assists in preparing lead sheets and working papers for annual audit, review and/or compilation, as required.
- Leads or participates in finance-related special projects and process improvement initiatives as directed by the Financial Controller.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- CPA candidacy is preferable; CPA designation is a plus.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in financial analysis, cost accounting, audit, or a related analytical role.
- Hands on experience with ERP systems (SAP Business One preferred).
- Solid foundation in finance and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Excel and data analysis; BI/reporting tools an asset.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to work with large datasets.
- Inquisitive mindset with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively across teams.
