Norelco Cabinets is a locally owned and operated cabinet manufacturing company and we are seeking to hire an apprentice Cabinet Makers, afternoon shift. Position Summary
The Apprentice Cabinet Maker is responsible for assisting in the manufacturing, assembly, and finishing of high-quality kitchen cabinetry while developing and applying journeyperson-level skills. This position works collaboratively with production teams to ensure products are manufactured safely, accurately, and efficiently while meeting quality standards, production schedules, and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Cabinet Manufacturing & Assembly
- Read and interpret shop drawings, work orders, blueprints, and specifications.
- Manufacture, assemble, and install cabinet components according to company standards.
- Operate woodworking machinery and equipment, including but not limited to:
- CNC machines
- Edge banders
- Beam saws
- Table saws
- Panel saws
- Drill and dowel machines
- Sanders and hand tools
- Measure, cut, shape, and prepare materials accurately.
- Assemble cabinet boxes, drawers, doors, and specialty components.
- Inspect finished products to ensure quality and accuracy.
Production Support
- Work collaboratively with production departments to meet daily production targets and customer deadlines.
- Maintain workflow efficiency while minimizing waste and rework.
- Assist with troubleshooting production issues and identifying process improvements.
- Ensure materials and components are available and organized for production activities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.
Quality Control
- Perform quality inspections throughout the manufacturing process.
- Identify and report defects, discrepancies, or equipment concerns.
- Ensure all products meet company quality standards and customer specifications.
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship and attention to detail.
Safety Responsibilities
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
- Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
- Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses immediately.
- Participate in safety meetings and training programs.
Ability to work towards a journeyman certification
- Work under the guidance of experienced Cabinet Makers and supervisors.
- Demonstrate continuous skill development and a willingness to learn.
- Apply feedback and coaching to improve performance and technical skills.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Previous experience in cabinet manufacturing, woodworking, or a manufacturing environment is considered an asset.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Pay: $20.00-$29.00 per hour
