Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Garage Door Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to garage doors. This role requires a hands-on approach, attention to detail, and the capability to work independently while ensuring high-quality service for our customers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install, repair, and service garage doors and openers in residential and industrial settings as per manufacturer instructions
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for various tasks.
- Perform welding as needed for repairs or custom installations.
- Repair existing garage door systems to extend their lifespan.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding service needs and recommendations.
- Perform door inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safety of door.
- Replace broken springs, cables, rollers, and other components.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas.
- Uphold integrity, loyalty, and professionalism in all interactions.
- Adhere to and promote safe work practices.
- Engage in additional construction tasks as needed, including welding and torching.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in the garage door industry.
- High school or equivalent.
- Welding experience would be an asset.
- Electrical experience would be an asset.
- Comfortable working at heights.
- Must have a valid Ontario G license or equivalent, with a clean driving record.
