Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mason to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in masonry work, including the use of various tools and techniques for building and restoring structures. This role offers opportunities to work on diverse projects such as new construction, renovation, and restoration, contributing to high-quality craftsmanship and durable results. Candidates should be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of interpreting blueprints and schematics to ensure precise execution of projects.
Duties
- Construct, repair, and restore structures using bricks, concrete blocks, stone, and other masonry materials
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to determine project requirements
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Mix mortar or concrete as needed for various applications
- Perform caulking and sealing to ensure weatherproofing and structural integrity
- Assist with renovation projects by restoring historic or damaged masonry surfaces
- Follow safety protocols at all times to maintain a secure work environment
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other tradespeople to meet project specifications and deadlines
Skills
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as trowels, chisels, levels, and hammers
- Experience with construction methods specific to masonry work
- Ability to operate power tools safely and effectively
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and schematics interpretation
- Experience with heavy equipment operation is a plus for certain projects
- Skilled in renovation and restoration techniques for historic or damaged structures
- Knowledge of caulking procedures for weatherproofing applications
- Ability to adapt to different project requirements including schematics understanding and precision craftsmanship
- Excellent attention to detail, safety awareness, and teamwork skills
