Northern Gold Foods is a well established, leading manufacturer of a wide range of healthy and great tasting breakfast and snack food products. With roots dating back to 1978, Northern Gold Foods now has production facilities located in British Columbia, Ontario and Oregon.
We are seeking Quality Control Supervisor for our Quality Control Department. These are full-time position with significant opportunity for growth and long-term employment within a stable and growing organization.
Responsibilities
GENERAL SUPERVISION OF DAILY QC AND PRODUCTION ACTIVITIES
- Troubleshooting processes, offering advice and assistance when required.
- Daily production walk through and checks of activities
- Helping to ensure daily production results are accurate and within specification.
- Reports to QC Manager any daily quality problems or nonconformities.
- Directly interacts with line supervisors and QC technicians to ensure daily QC issues are effectively resolved and managed.
QC RECORD MAINTENANCE AND VERIFICATION
- Assist in verification of QC documentation (production records, pre-op inspections, metal detector documents, etc)
- Assist in following up and retraining for incorrectly completed documentation.
- Assist in managing the data entry, filing and retention of these documents daily.
- Assist in the set up and management of QA sampling groups in Galileo.
POSITIVE RELEASE (back up in absence of QA Manager)
- Manage hold and release of finished products, completing Positive Release and customer specific release logs.
- Submit 3rd party lab and customer samples. Manage lab reports and results and communicate with 3rd party lab when required.
- Maintain a current list of customer sampling requirements, instructions and contacts.
- Issuing and approving Certificates of Analysis to customers. Maintaining all associated documentation.
GENERAL LAB DUTIES, GLPs
- Inventory management of lab supplies including buffers, equipment, swabs, etc. Maintain a current list of suppliers, pricing, sign off on POs etc.(back up in absence of QA Manager)
- Ensuring the lab is kept clean and tidy and lab cleaning schedules are being followed.
SANITATION
- Support and manage all aspects of sanitation program, including Chemical Control, Master Cleaning Schedule, Procedures and Training with QA Manager
- Maintaining inventory of sanitation chemicals, and scheduling calibrations of sanitation equipment.
EMPLOYEE TRAINING
- Lead the training plant wide – GMP, Chemical, Sanitation, QC.
- Assist in QC proficiency training.
- Assist with the development guidance documents for operators and QC.
- Participating in external and internal training opportunities – HACCP, internal auditing, etc.
INTERNAL AUDIT
- Actively participate in Internal Audit program, 2nd and 3rd party audits.
FOREIGN MATERIAL PROGRAM/ CALIBRATION PROGRAM
- Manage and lead the foreign material program in compliance with BRC and AIB standards
- Managing foreign material detection equipment set up, training, calibration, and troubleshooting
- Respond to and investigate foreign material concerns and complaints.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
- Salary range between $80,000.00 to $90,000 annually
