DIY Court Canada is looking for a General Labourer to join our installation team in Mississauga.
We are looking for someone who can grow with the company. This position will begin as a general labour role, but there is a clear opportunity for the right person to take on additional responsibility and eventually develop into a Crew Lead position.
What you'll be doing:
- Installing basketball systems, sport courts, fencing and other outdoor recreation equipment
- Digging and preparing concrete footings
- Using hand and power tools
- Loading/unloading materials and preparing jobsites
- Assembling and installing products according to plans and instructions
- Travelling to residential and commercial jobsites throughout Ontario
- Working outdoors in a physically demanding environment
- Troubleshooting installation issues and solving problems on site
What we're looking for:
- Construction, landscaping, renovation or general labour experience is an asset
- Comfortable using hand and power tools
- Reliable and able to consistently arrive on time
- Able to work independently without constant supervision
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Comfortable taking responsibility and learning new tasks
- Able to communicate professionally with coworkers and customers
- Leadership or crew supervision experience is an asset, but not required
Requirements:
- Valid G driver's licence
- Comfortable with occasional overnight travel throughout Ontario
- Able to perform physically demanding work outdoors
- Flexible availability during our busy season
Travel:
Our crews occasionally complete overnight projects throughout Ontario. Travel time is paid, hotels and transportation are covered by the company, and employees receive a $50/day travel per diem.
Growth Opportunity:
We are specifically looking for someone interested in developing beyond an entry-level labour position. Employees who demonstrate reliability, initiative, good judgment and leadership ability will have opportunities to take on additional responsibility and progress toward a Crew Lead role.
