Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Construction Labourer to join our construction team. This role involves performing construction tasks safely and efficiently across various projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and experience in construction-related activities. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, develop valuable skills, and contribute to the successful completion of demolition and renovation tasks.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the safe demolition of structures, including removal of walls, flooring, and fixtures.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment in accordance with safety protocols.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to understand project requirements.
- Prepare sites for demolition activities by setting up barriers and safety measures.
- Perform concrete breaking, masonry removal, and other related tasks as needed.
- Assist with restoration work such as caulking, painting, or finishing surfaces post-demolition.
- Support carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or masonry tasks when required for project completion.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas and properly dispose of debris and materials.
Requirements
- Prior experience in construction or demolition preferred; familiarity with blueprint reading is a plus.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of construction processes including concrete forming, finishing, tile laying, or electrical work is advantageous.
- Experience with schematics or construction estimating is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy loads and perform manual labor for extended periods.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid <PERSON> (if applicable) or relevant certifications are preferred but not required.
