Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Full Time Temporary Dining Room Supervisor to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to assist and collaborate with volunteers in a restaurant setting. The ideal candidate is adaptable, supportive, and committed to maintaining high standards of dignified guest service and excellent food service. The Dining Room Supervisor will assist in leading an efficient dining room service of Martha’s Table’s guests.
You will play a vital role in overseeing breakfast, lunch, and dinner service at Martha's Table. Operating five days a week, you will be responsible for training and supervising volunteers, ensuring the seamless flow of meal services, and managing guest interactions within our dining room. Your commitment to maintaining a welcoming atmosphere, ensuring safety, and supportive volunteer direction will contribute to the success of our community program.
Responsibilities:
- Support, train and lead volunteers, ensuring a positive and productive work environment and addressing questions and concerns as they arise.
- Efficiently supervise breakfast, lunch, and dinner services.
- Organize and maintain a stock of necessary supplies for volunteers and service. Communicate promptly with the Operations Manager regarding supply requirements.
- Assist Operations Manager in volunteer retention and scheduling
- Adhere to safe food handling practices.
- Communicate effectively with team to ensure consistency in dining room service
- Address and resolve as able any issues or challenges that may arise on-site during operational hours, documenting any incidents of concern.
- Maintain site safety and follow cleaning, opening, & closing procedures.
- Ensure that all equipment, tools and the facility are safe and ready for volunteers and guests to be in and use the space. Alerting the operations manager to any maintenance concerns.
- Work in coordination with volunteers and staff to create a welcoming environment for our guests.
- Assume any necessary role due to staff or volunteer shortage
Skills, Certifications & Experience
- 3 year experience in restaurant front of house roles required
- 1 year experience in a supervisory position required. Experience in a dining setting an asset.
- 1 year experience with vulnerable populations an asset
- First Aid & CPR an asset
- Safe Food Handling Certificate an asset
- Driver's License and clean driving abstract an asset
- Ability to provide an acceptable CPIC will be required
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Ability to work well within a team environment, demonstrating cooperation and flexibility
- Good organizational skills with attention to detail
- Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn new skills.

Pay: $21.00-$22.00 per hour
