Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Punjabi Speaking Home Support Worker to provide personalized in-home care for clients in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will communicate fluently in Punjabi and possess a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those recovering from illness. This role involves assisting with personal care, household tasks, and medication management, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for clients.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and preferences
- Administer medications accurately as prescribed by healthcare professionals
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and organizing to maintain a clean living space
- Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation
- Support clients with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Monitor health status and report any concerns or changes to family members or healthcare providers
- Follow care plans and document care activities thoroughly and accurately
- Assist with errands such as grocery shopping or pharmacy visits
Qualifications
- Fluent in Punjabi; strong communication skills in English are preferred
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, hospice care, or home care is highly desirable
- Knowledge of senior care, dementia care, and working with individuals with disabilities is advantageous
- Compassionate attitude with patience and empathy for clients' needs
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility support
- Experience with medication administration and basic nursing tasks preferred
- Valid driver’s license is a plus for assisting with errands or appointments
- Certification in caregiving or relevant training is beneficial but not required
- Ability to work independently while following established care protocols
