Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our warehouse team. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth flow of materials, accurate order fulfillment, and efficient warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in mixing resins, cleaning dryers, loaders, grinders, be able to calculate to prepare mixes. This position offers an opportunity to work with a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment, utilizing mechanical knowledge and warehouse management systems to support overall productivity.
Job Duties
- Set up related equipment for production (i.e.: dryers, grinders).
- Follows production schedule in preparing materials, raw resin, color concentrates.
- Regrind.
- Co-ordinate and calculate material required per machine vs. production required.
- Responsible for all related equipment maintenance to assist in the smooth running of processes.
- Adjusts material handling equipment as required. (All adjustments out of the original setup provided must be documented and noted to shift supervisor and/or process technician).
- Maintains all material equipment in good, clean working order.
- Assures set up of materials is carried out in a consistent format to work instructions.
- Assists in documentation of all related production process, material lot numbers and material logs when required.
- Ensure that the production area is kept clean and tidy, that all sprues, runners & reject parts are reground, properly stored, and identified.
- When required, enter Lot numbers of all materials on material log sheets with time and date.
- Assure all machines, dryers, hoppers, grinders, and material containers have proper identification labels.
- Report all low quantities of materials to Foreman or Supervisor, boxes, color, raw resin, tape, and shrink wrap.
- Advise the Supervisor of all related equipment poor performance.
- Trouble-shoots material handling as required.
- Ensure continuous improvement of production.
- Support production on all related issues as required.
- Assist with training of staff when required.
- Clean and store all materials after a production run has finished.
- Assist Production staff, with boxes and shrink wrap of skids as required.
- Housekeeping as required by the business unit.
- Any other relevant functions deemed necessary by the business unit.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in production manufacturing, with preference given to those with plastic industry knowledge/experience.
- Strong English communication skills, including reading, writing, and speaking, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and noisy environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
