The Associate Account Executive role is designed for ambitious, driven individuals who want to build a successful career in sales. Working alongside experienced Account Executives, Service Managers, and cross-functional teams, you’ll become an integral part of our commercial team while developing the technical, financial, and relationship management skills required to become an Account Executive or Account Manager.
This isn’t a traditional coordinator role. It’s a structured development opportunity where you’ll learn the business from the ground up by supporting customer relationships, preparing quotations, improving sales processes, uncovering new opportunities, and helping deliver an exceptional customer experience.
Our expectation is simple: high performers will continuously earn greater responsibility and develop into an Account Executive or Account Manager within approximately two to three years.
As an Associate Account Executive, you will be asked to do the following:
Become an indispensable partner to the sales team
-
Become a trusted extension of the Account Executive team by anticipating needs, taking ownership of commercial activities, and consistently finding ways to make the sales team more productive.
-
Build credibility and earn the confidence of Account Executives through exceptional judgment, responsiveness, reliability, and attention to detail.
-
Proactively manage customer communications, follow-up activities, and administrative responsibilities that allow Account Executives to spend more time building customer relationships and generating new business.
-
Take ownership of tasks without waiting to be asked, demonstrating persistence, resourcefulness, and a solutions-first mindset.
Support the sales process from opportunity to invoice
-
Prepare accurate, professional quotations for technician recommendations and service opportunities that clearly communicate value to customers.
-
Work directly with field technicians to gather missing technical information, ask thoughtful questions, and strengthen recommendations before they are presented to customers.
-
Learn to translate technical findings into customer-focused proposals that improve approval rates and demonstrate the value of our services.
-
Assist in developing pricing for time-and-material service work by reviewing labour, materials, subcontractor costs, and markups before presenting completed pricing packages for review.
-
Progressively assume greater ownership of quotation preparation and pricing decisions as commercial knowledge and trust are established.
-
Follow up on quotations, purchase orders, customer approvals, and outstanding opportunities to maintain momentum and support revenue growth.
-
Review completed work orders for billing accuracy, reconcile discrepancies between operational and financial systems, and identify missing labour, materials, consumables, or other billable items before invoicing.
Identify opportunities to grow customer relationships
-
Review completed work orders and technician recommendations to identify additional service opportunities, equipment upgrades, deferred maintenance, and other value-added solutions.
-
Conduct post-service customer follow-ups to gather feedback, strengthen relationships, identify service concerns, and uncover future work opportunities.
-
Support Account Executives and Service Managers in developing relationships with new customers generated through construction project turnover and other strategic initiatives.
-
Develop an understanding of customer operations, helping identify opportunities to expand Plan Group’s service offering over time.
-
Begin building relationships with smaller customer accounts as opportunities are assigned, preparing to develop and manage a book of business as part of your professional growth.
Drive commercial excellence
-
Maintain accurate, organized, and actionable customer and opportunity information within Salesforce, helping ensure pipeline visibility and forecasting accuracy.
-
Partner with Business Development and Marketing to develop and continuously improve proposal templates, boilerplate content, tender packages, and customer-facing sales materials.
-
Support the preparation of RFPs, ProTenders, and other competitive submissions by coordinating documentation and producing high-quality proposal packages.
-
Create reports, dashboards, and performance insights that improve visibility into sales activity, customer engagement, and pipeline health.
-
Leverage AI and emerging technologies to improve proposal development, reporting, customer communication, and overall commercial productivity.
-
Continuously identify opportunities to improve processes, eliminate inefficiencies, and enhance the effectiveness of the commercial team.
Grow into a future Account Executive

Learn from experienced sales professionals, Service Managers, technicians, and business leaders by actively seeking feedback and embracing new challenges.
-
Demonstrate the initiative, curiosity, professionalism, and accountability expected of future commercial leaders at Plan Group.
